Hi, is there a way to use the Mikrotik Config-API without being connected to the network? The plan is to use a samba server, which I’m trying to use with a network profile which is active when the gateway is connected, and inactive otherwise. Problem is, the gateway is a MikroTik RouterBoard 705, and the network profile is configured with a hardware switch that turns off the router when the network cable is pulled out. So the plan was to use the Config-API to connect a Raspberry Pi to the router, and use the Samba server to open the samba share using the hardware switch to turn on or off the network profile.
I’m just not sure how to do this in the configuration-API.
Basically, I want to do this:
if network profile is active:
turn on the network profile.
connect to the router via the config-api.
if the router is connected to the network profile:
turn off the network profile.
switch my samba server to the access-list (active/inactive).
My thought is that when the network profile is active, the router is connected to the network, and when the network profile is inactive, the router is not connected to the network, and therefore I shouldn’t be able to use the config-api to turn the network on/off. If this is the case, is there a way to use the config-api to turn the network on/off when the router is not connected to the network?
I’m not sure how to turn the network off without it being connected, and the config-api is the only way I know how to do this.
